New! My Classic BA5 clarinet mouthpiece was designed as a response to the popularity of the Vandoren BD5 13 series mouthpiece that has gained much popularity among many clarinetists who are looking for a “sound” and a “feel” that was not available with most mouthpieces. This style of mouthpiece fits between the classic short French facings, and the longer designs such as my L’Opera model and the Vandoren M series mouthpieces. It features a medium tip opening of 1.11mm, and a medium short facing length, which incorporates the “best” of both worlds. A rich full upper register, and still warm and dark. Recommended reed strength 3 – 3 ½. Tuning is 440hz-442hz., depending upon the barrel used.
